Malecon Rare Proof Vintage 2016 is an honorary representative of Malecon's Rare Proof line. As a classic Spanish-style rum, it abounds with sweeter notes that are very well integrated into the overall flavor palette.

The basic material for this rum was molasses, which after fermentation was distilled using a column still at the Bodegas de America distillery in Panama. It was then stored in bourbon barrels that were fired from the inside. The minimum maturation period is 7 years.

Nose: Honey, dried apricots, floral, hint of smoke.

Taste: Fresh with light acidity. Sweet biscuits, burnt wood, mint, citrus.

Finish: Long and lingering with spicy notes, salted caramel and balsamic sweetness.
