Jura Winter Edition will offer you the opportunity to move in front of a warm winter fireplace, near which is placed a tea made of winter spices together with a cinnamon-apple cake. With this whisky, the Jura brand embarked on an expedition into the world of sherry finishes, which leave their mark on the taste of whiskey in a very specific and very tasty way.

After the initial maturation, which took place in barrels made of American white oak, the whiskey was transferred to Spanish sherry casks. Here, its maturation and flavor enrichment was completed not only due to contact with wood, but also due to the absorption of sherry influences.

Color: Deep golden-orange.

Aroma: Citrus fruit, caramel latte, sultanas followed by a hint of banana.

Taste: Coffee, maple syrup, spiced mulled wine, warm vanilla and cinnamon.

Jura Distillery, was originally established in 1810, but according to historical evidence, illegal distilling has been taking place on this remote island since the early 16th century, so unofficially it could be one of the oldest whiskey distilleries in Scotland.

It was inactive for many years and was reborn only in 1963 thanks to the local community and Whyte & Mackay. The original Jura whiskey was heavily peated and quite distinctive, similar to whiskey from the nearby island of Islay. Today, some of the tallest pot stills in Scotland are installed here, producing a lighter but still unmistakable whiskey.
