A whiskey that could only be produced in the Jura distillery, which was born on the island and is still produced in a bottle that was originally shaped to withstand even the roughest journeys around the world. Made in exceptionally tall stills and aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon American white oak barrels.

Aging takes place in the best old Oloroso Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. Sweet, smooth whiskey with a taste of rich dark chocolate and vanilla cream.

Color: Copper gold

Aroma: Vanilla, orange, ground black pepper, dark chocolate

Taste: Nectarines, ginger, coffee, roasted almonds

Aging: 10 years in bourbon casks and then in oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain.

Jura Distillery was originally founded in 1810, but according to historical evidence, illegal distilling has been taking place on this remote island since the early 16th century, so unofficially it could be the oldest distillery in Scotland.

It was inactive for many years and was reborn in 1963 thanks to the local community. The original Jura whiskey was heavily peated, similar to that from the nearby island of Islay, but during the conversion, tall stills were installed, producing a lighter whiskey more akin to the Highlands.
