Special Companion Damast Limited Edition 2025 Our 16th limited edition pocket knife with a Damascus steel blade, materialized this year in the Special Companion model available in an exclusive version with matte white handles, is designed for demanding collectors who can appreciate breathtaking design and exceptional quality workmanship. Limited to 7,000 pieces worldwide, this model is available with a blade consisting of 264 layers of Damasteel® steel in a unique pattern called Svavner with a hardness of 60 HRC. The surface finish of the handles is made of a mixture of acrylic resin and natural minerals, with its individual scales taking on the appearance of natural stone, which perfectly embodies sophisticated elegance. Damasteel® represents the work of craftsmen, the origins of which date back more than a thousand years. Damascus steel is produced using a patented metallurgical method that begins with the atomization of steel with a gas, during which molten steel is forced through a nozzle and aerosolized. The powders are layered, sealed, compacted and bonded using a process called hot isostatic pressing (HIP). The layering process then pre-define the pattern of the final product. The material is then forged, textured, rolled and twisted to obtain its unique pattern, a process similar to traditional techniques. The pattern of Damascus steel only becomes visible after the surface is etched, with the two different types of steel used (in different layers) reacting to oxidation differently due to their composition. Thus, the ingenious combination of unique aesthetics with remarkable quality creates a unique collector's item.
