Premium cloves from Sri Lanka are among the most intense and aromatic cloves in the world. They are dried flower buds of an evergreen tree that are hand-picked before they bloom to retain maximum essential oils, a strong aroma and a full taste. Cloves have a characteristic sweet-spicy aroma with woody and slightly floral tones. The taste is warm, strong and long-lasting, while even a small amount can significantly affect the resulting taste of food. Thanks to the high content of natural eugenol, they are among the strongest spices ever.

They are great in gingerbread spices, mulled wine, compotes, fruit sauces, rice, stewed meat or Asian spice blends. They combine perfectly with cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg or black pepper. Cloves are suitable for both mortar and pestle and are best ground freshly just before use.
