Product description Tamnavulin Double Cask, 40%

Tamnavulin Double Cask derives its uniqueness from aging in two types of casks. The maturation of this whiskey begins in barrels made of American white oak wood, which previously contained bourbon. Here it acquires pleasant tones of apples, pineapple, honey and coconut. At the end of maturation, the whiskey is transferred to Oloroso sherry casks, which in turn add flavors of caramel candies and brown sugar.

The water for the production of this whiskey comes from underground reservoirs in the Easterton Mountains. These reservoirs are filled annually by melting snow and are naturally filtered by ancient limestone rocks during their journey underground.

Color: Golden amber.

Aroma: Rich. Pleasant aromas of apples, caramel and honey with sweet marzipan momentarily illuminated by soft notes of orange marmalade.

Taste: Fresh. Pear, creamy peaches, toasted pineapple and a pinch of demerara sugar.

Finish: Rich, smooth and refreshing. A typical Speyside single malt.

Tamnavulin was founded in 1966 in the small Scottish village of Tomnavoulin. Between 1995 and 2007, the distillery was closed. However, it was renovated in 2007 and since then it has been producing its whiskey with a taste typical of the Speyside region.

The name Tamnavulin comes from the Gaelic language and means "mill on the hill". It is a reference to the historic mill building, which still stands near the distillery.

Today, 12 people work in the distillery and the character of the whiskey they produce is gaining more and more enthusiasts. Tamnavulin is currently one of the best-selling Scottish single malt whiskeys in Scottish stores.
